Build Diary for
2013-07-13 - Floorpans

The rest of the floorpans turned up so I welded them all up and made sure they all fitted together. I will be bolting them down to the chassis with a rubber strip so they will removable of sorts and keep the original concept of rebodying a classic! Hopefully that will keep the DVLA happy when I come to registering it.

The rear pans have a 75mm to 100mm drop so that gives plenty of space and the fronts have a 75mm drop all round. As you can see the front pans stop halfway along as the cockpit on the Miglia speedster is set further back so you don't need to go all the way to the front. I have given Mike the drawings for the front pans so he will be offering them as an option along with the rear ones.

I will now paint them all black, and the intention is to get the frame bolted down and all the electrics and pipework done so I can get the engine running in the next few weeks. I will have to weld a few little brackets on here and there for things like the seat hinges (they will tilt forward so I can get to the luggage area), and mounts for the brake reserviors, fuse box and some other stuff.
